The role of a Principal in NSW Public Schools is provide strong educational leadership and management to create a positive, inclusive and high-quality learning environment. They are responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school, supporting student learning and wellbeing, leading staff development and engaging with the school community. Principals ensure the implementation of Department of Education policies, promote equity and inclusion and drive continuous improvement to achieve the best outcomes for all students.
Joanne Fedele, Acting Deputy Principal
Deputy Principals support the principal in leading the school with integrity, overseeing staff accountability, and reviewing procedures in line with departmental policies. They work with the executive team, specialist staff, and external agencies to coordinate support for students and families. Together with the principal, they foster a culture of high expectations and evidence-informed practice that drives student achievement and wellbeing.

An Assistant Principal, Curriculum and Instruction (APCI) enhances teaching and learning by leading curriculum development, implementation, and assessment. They support teachers through professional learning, resources, and guidance, while using student data to drive improvement and promote innovative, engaging practices. The APCI’s fosters a positive learning environment and drive student success.

Assistant Principals support school leadership by working with teachers and students to improve teaching, learning, and student engagement. They help implement the school’s vision, stregthen curriculum delivery, and foster a positive school culture through collaboration with staff, students, and families. The role of assistant principal is an opportunity for teachers to grow in their understandings about leadership and continue to develop their teaching expertise.
