Sport

All students from Kindergarten to Year 6 take part in physical activity programs that emphasise developing fundamental movement skills, learning team sports, and building teamwork. These activities occur during class time and designated sport sessions.
Sport and physical activity are integral components of our school’s curriculum, supporting the overall development of each child. They offer opportunities for social, physical, emotional, and moral growth and serve as a meaningful reflection of our school’s culture.

Carnivals

Annual sporting carnivals are held throughout the year, including:

These events serve as selection opportunities for students to represent the school at Zone, Regional, and State level competitions. Fairvale Public School is part of the Lansdowne Zone and the Sydney South West Region.

Primary School Sports Association (PSSA)

There are opportunities to represent our school at inter-school sports competitions. As a NSW public school we benefit from the opportunities for shared activities and competitions with other schools, coordinated by school sport associations. Students chosen for PSSA teams will be required to pay a small fee each season for bus travel.

Students from Years 3 to 6 have the opportunity to trial for PSSA. There will be sports for junior students (8-10years) and senior students (11+).

Sport Houses

At enrolment all students become a member of one of our four sporting houses:
