Physical Domain
Recognising the value of physical development, we help students build their coordination, health, and physical skills through purposeful activities and a wide range of sports.
Sporting Carnivals
Students have the opportunity to compete annually in various carnivals, including the Swimming Carnival (Term 1), Cross Country (Term 2) and the Athletics Carnival (Term 3). In 2026, Fairvale Public School will engage Zing Athletics to explicitly teach students the skills required for track and field events, long jump and throwing events such as shot put through weekly structured programs. Students who are successfully placed at these carnivals have the opportunity to progress and compete at Zone and Regional levels
PSSA
Fairvale Public School’s Years 3–6 students have the opportunity to participate in weekly PSSA (Primary Schools Sports Association) competitions to further develop their physical potential. Students attend weekly training sessions, developing specific sporting skills to successfully engage in team sports. The following sports are currently offered during the summer and winter seasons at junior (Years 3–4) and senior (Years 5–6) levels: netball, touch football, basketball, AFL, Oztag, modified cricket, T-ball and softball.
Opportunities to represent at Zone, Regional and State level
Fairvale Public School is proud of the outstanding sporting achievements of our students. Each year, many students progress from school carnivals to represent Fairvale at Zone, Regional and State levels across a range of sports. Their commitment, determination and sportsmanship reflect the high expectations and strong sporting culture within our school community. We celebrate their achievements and continue to support all students in striving for their personal best.
